TIFF TIFF
There comes a time when one needs to get serious about obtaining investors. For me, that time is now. I have decided to attend the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) to network with others in the industry. TIFF is one of the five most prominent film festivals on the planet. I have also signed up for The Hollywood Reporter’s Access Canada Summit. TIFF runs from September 4-14. The Access Canada Summit runs from September 8-10.
Accommodations for the festival are way booked but I have managed to secure lodgings near by. And I will be bringing four Sarah Bernhardt costumes with me. All my life I have often appeared in costume so this is nothing new. I’m having a large cross-body bag (18”x 18”) made that provides information about SUPERSTAR Sarah Bernhardt. It’s a walking billboard that people can photograph with their cell phones. I also have new business cards that coordinate with the cross-body bag.
The Summit will be attended by high-level executives, funders, studio people, streamers and broadcasters. There will be opportunities for strategic networking, business development and inciteful programming. More specifically, I can expect more than twenty panels and keynote addresses on the Main Stage, plus over 500 one-to-one and small group meetings. There will be workshops and think-tank sessions with top-tier decision makers. And let’s not forget about the lounges where networking takes place as well as lunches and cocktail receptions. This appears to be a dream come true for a producer in search of investors and people steeped in experience in the movie industry.
September 4 is just around the corner. This should be exciting, exhilarating and exhausting. Can’t wait!!!
